It’s Pepe Luepe’s
Cinematic Universe,
We Just Live in It

Pepe Luepe lives in an uncanny VHS valley. A rare example of a fictional character who became a real‑life person, the former gangster first appeared in the 1991 film Las Victimas de Malentendido.

After a hail of gunfire left him the only surviving member of the international crime organization which had employed him since childhood, Luepe decided to stay in the USA and try his luck in the Iowa high school film industry. His fame preceded him, and he soon found his way onto crews of two films directed by Andy Kropa. Leupe also consented to appear on screen in both (as himself) to leverage his considerable star power and assure box office success.

Leupe is sometimes credited as Joe Walljasper, the actor who originally portrayed him.
